For our Operations Finance and Order Management group in Smart Infrastructure Buildings department, we are looking for a Commercial Project Manager (CPM) who is a key member of project execution team and partner with the Project Manager (PM) to ensure the successful execution of customer projects in terms of cost, schedule, and overall performance.
This role will be responsible for performing all commercial tasks during the project’s execution. The goal of the CPM is to provide transparent and consistent cost controlling and reporting which allows the project team to identify potential areas to improve a project’s profitability.
What part will you play?
- Ensure the accuracy of project books and records and keeping our systems updated, e.g. SAP and ensure compliance with Financial Reporting Guidelines, local GAAP requirements, related law and tax regulations, insurance regulations, export control regulations, and hedging / currency regulations
- Financial execution of projects including creating project work breakdown structure (WBS) and setting up project in SAP, revenue recognition, creating customer invoices, maintenance of project costs, securities, taxes and insurance requirements
- Ensure an adequate handover phase, analyze customer requirements, and examine their commercial and contractual feasibility and transferability
- Have the accountability for project controlling, forecasts and reporting according to project progress and contractual terms
- Follow-up guarantees, bonds, accruals, accounting documents, processing Letter of Credits (L / C), all receivables and payables
- Coordination of import-export processes, logistic, foreign trade, transit trade activities with relevant stakeholders
- Ensure project currency risk is managed with the support of Treasury FX team
- Support the Project Manager (PM) in identifying, evaluating and assessing risk and opportunities, NCC, strategies and response activities – taking over the full responsibility in this regard with respect to all commercial risks and opportunities
- Ensure compliance with Levels of Authority approval guidelines for commercial aspects per the risk management process
- Take role in the preparation of legal and commercial conditions of contracts with customers and suppliers, carry out respective negotiations and claim management
- Take proactive role in risk management and claim management issues together with the consultancy of contract manager and / or legal department, resulting in negotiations with customer
- Lead commercial project team members to act according to business conduct guidelines and establish a culture of trust and integrity
- Proactively communicate with customer's commercial representatives and manage solving the commercial issues
- Classify and control project costs, execute cost analysis with PM, optimize the project gross margin and cash flow
- Prepare and present project commercial data for management also, for commercial and financial audit purposes by ensuring quality of all commercial and administrational project policies per Siemens guidelines
- Cooperate with PM in monthly / quarterly project status meetings preparation
- Evaluate and provide project related commercial data for forecasting and budgeting
- Manage and report project financial results
- Regularly perform lessons-learned activities on commercial aspects and feed results into own project lessons-learned activities and into own organization.
- Take part in / support in financial analysis, planning and controlling activities and all related business administration activities for projects and orders, provide reports, analyses and propose measures if necessary.
- Take part in / support all finance related operations during monthly, quarterly and yearly closing activities and result in proper accounting, forecasting and financial reporting of BU’s KPI’s.
- Carry out ad-hoc analyses, comparisons and profitability calculations. (as sold vs. actual / final)
