What you’ll do
- Providing timely, accurate, and practical legal advice on all aspects of data protection and privacy;
- Advising and supporting the business to manage privacy risks on a day-to-day basis, including handling and reviewing privacy impact assessments, where necessary, data inventories / mapping and other documents to evidence the organisation’s data privacy compliance;
- Horizon scanning for upcoming regulatory issues which could impact upon Vodafone’s operations;
- Digesting regulatory changes and rules quickly in order to determine the impact for the business whilst helping to set appropriate risk tolerances for approach;
- Advising key stakeholders on Vodafone’s data privacy and protection strategy;
- Collaborating with InfoSec team for operating privacy by design programme as desired including advising on privacy impact assessments of the new products and services from legal perspective;
- Collaborating with InfoSec team to maintain records of all data breach responses, complaints, claims or notifications etc.
- Collaborating with InfoSec team for ongoing or potential data privacy audits;
- Collaborating InfoSec and Cyber teams in investigating, documenting, and remediating potential privacy incidents that impact personal data;
- Conducting comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential data privacy vulnerabilities from legal perspective;
- Collaborating with the InfoSec team to raise employee awareness of data privacy and security issues and providing training on the subject matter;
- Drafting legal texts (privacy notices, explicit consent and marketing permission forms, data breach notifications, data inventories, policies etc.) as necessary;
- Negotiating data processing agreements as well as data protection terms of all sort of agreements;
- Developing templates, guidance notes, processes etc. with the objective of making the data protection activities more effective and practical;
- Preparing all relevant policies, procedures, documents, registries to ensure compliance with respective local privacy laws and regulations;
- Assisting Vodafone Group Privacy team for certain projects in the local market.
Who you are
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) required. Master degree in engineering or LLM is highly preferable.4+ years of relevant experience in data protection area.One or more data protection qualifications such as CIPP / E etc. is not a must but preferable.Knowledge of IT and cyber security and ISO certifications is not a must but preferable.Experience within telecommunication sector and / or regulated sectors such as banking and finance etc. or e-commerce would be highly advantageous.Good understanding of local and European privacy landscape in technology and online businesses.Excellent verbal and written communication in both Turkish and English.Ability to work with a global team.
