Job Summary :
Reporting to the Vice President for Technical Engagement, the successful candidate will assist in liaising and coordinating Technical Engagement initiatives across ICANN’s ecosystem. While working closely with the entire CTO’s Office team, this role will manage projects and activities as part of the Technical Engagement Strategy.
Key Responsibilities & Duties :
- Support Technical Engagement initiatives within the Office of the CTO and across the organization.
- Liaise with Communications, Global Stakeholders Engagement (GSE), and Governments Engagement (GE) teams to identify and communicate key ICANN technical messages.
- Coordinate with the Technical Writer to produce various communication deliverables, including : The technical section of ICANN’s websiteThe Quarterly online newsletterEducational materials, articles, blogs, and slides for Technical Engagement presentations
- Monitor published technical documents and track revisions.
- Create and maintain a process for consulting and collecting input from various Technical Engagement stakeholders (internal and external) into cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Follow-up on the execution of technical cooperation agreements with peer organizations and third parties.
- Monitor global technical event calendars and identify events where ICANN's technical mission / work can be promoted. Coordinate with the Speaker Bureau to secure participation.
- Coordinate regional Technical Engagement opportunities with GSE and GE.
- Draft and finalize reports, position papers, and communications for internal and external use.
- Manage, coordinate, monitor, and report on mature projects and initiatives that need to be communicated to other parts of the organization or the community.
- Contribute to regular and consolidated Technical Engagement or other relevant reporting processes.
- Contribute to collecting technical topics within ICANN's mission that need attention or a defined position.
- Create awareness and communicate Technical Engagement activities online.
- Support other relevant activities as identified by the Vice President for Technical Engagement.
- Show initiative in developing new methods and process improvements when needed.
- Recommend best practices and contribute to significant Technical Engagement projects, programs, and business initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

Good understanding of Internet Protocol (IPv4 & IPv6) technology and associated services such as DNS, DNSSEC, WHOIS, etc.Ability to quickly grasp technical concepts, particularly those related to the operation of the Internet.Good understanding of ICANN’s technical ecosystem.General understanding of the Internet Governance ecosystem.Sound judgment and tact when interacting with various stakeholders.Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects with overlapping tasks.Ability to solve complex problems in creative and effective ways.Self-motivated and able to work independently.Ability to work in a globally distributed organization and coordinate projects / work with team members using online tools.Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills, including the ability to work and interact in a multi-cultural and globally distributed team.Ability to communicate complex and often controversial information, concepts, policies, and positions, both verbally and in writing, to internal and external audiences.Strong ability to meet tight project deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.Excellent multitasking abilities.Education and Experience Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred. A degree in Computer Science, IT Management, or a related field is desired.Minimum eight (8) years of experience working in a technology-driven organization.Prior international experience is strongly preferred, along with experience working for a global organization.Previous experience in a community-driven organization is desirable.Experience within an Internet Technical Coordination organization is strongly preferred.Language :
Fluency, both written and spoken, in English is required.Fluent written and spoken language skills in any of the other official United Nations languages are strongly preferred.Working Conditions & Physical Requirements :
Work is performed in a normal office environment with limited privacy and some exposure to background noise.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
