Job descriptionA minimum of 3 years of mechanical engineering design experience A B.S. / B.A. in engineering / physics or a related field A minimum of 3 years of industry experience Demonstrated expertise in mechanical modeling / design / analysis (CAD, FEA, CFD) Fabrication and prototyping skills Machining experience (Mill, lathe, CNC mill, laser cutter, water jet cutter, etc.) M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical / Aero engineering or related field Experience with high-strength fiber composites Experience with plastics manufacturing including tool design and / or mold design Experience with product development in a start-up environment Experience with pressure vessels Experience with materials sourcing and vendor management
MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (multiple positions)
We are seeking a full-time mechanical engineers with at least 3 years of design experience to join our team. This engineer’s primary responsibilities will be to lead design, materials selection, and manufacturing process identification for key components of our product.
The successful candidate will :
- Be comfortable making ad-hoc physics-based arguments at a whiteboard as well as quantitative proposals supported by detailed research
- Have a demonstrated history of making important design decisions Carry complex projects from start to finish independently
- Enjoy a mix of conceptual, computer-based, and hands-on work
- Be motivated by driving new technologies from proof-of-concept to deployment
- Thrive in a collaborative environment
