Key Responsibilities :
- Cost Estimation and Budget Management :
Prepare detailed cost estimates for transportation, handling, permits, and any additional services required.
Negotiate rates with carriers, shipping lines, and subcontractors to optimize cost savings.Manage project budgets and track expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness.Project Planning and Coordination :Develop comprehensive transportation plans tailored to the unique requirements of OOG and heavy lift cargo.
Coordinate with clients to understand their specific cargo needs, timelines, and delivery locations.Create and manage project schedules, ensuring timely delivery of cargoRoute and Transport Mode Selection :Evaluate and select the most suitable routes and modes of transport (road, rail, sea, or air) based on cargo specifications, cost-efficiency, and safety considerations.
Perform route surveys to assess any potential obstacles or limitations and ensure safe passage of cargo.Qualifications :
3+ years of experience in freight forwarding, particularly in handling OOG and heavy lift cargo;In-depth understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance;Proven experience in managing logistics for complex industrial projects;Proficiency in logistics software, tender management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite;Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously;Ability to develop innovative logistics solutions under pressure and tight deadlines;Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in managing bids and tenders;Ideally a able to provide technical drawingsWork Environment :
Combination of office-based work and site visits to assess project feasibility and oversee logistics.Frequent collaboration with local and international teams to coordinate large-scale projects.May require domestic and international travel for project inspections, route surveys, or stakeholder meetings.Active involvement in the inspection of oversized or heavy cargo and the loading when necessary.Dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and adaptability.We offer :
