What you’ll do
We are looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive “Senior Data Scientist” to join our Big Data & AI team. As a senior data scientist, you will be responsible to provide actionable business insights that drive revenue, reduce cost, and improve customer experience. You will be working with a community of colleagues across technology and business functions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain credit risk models, assessing default probability, dunning and collection models using advanced machine learning techniques.
- Enhance limit management and credit policy strategies with data-driven insights.
- Leverage alternative data sources (telco usage, mobility, customer behavior patterns) for credit risk assessment.
- Develop collections optimization models to improve recovery rates.
- Monitor model performance and drift, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Design machine learning models for Vodafone’s mobile and non-mobile product challenges
- Translating complex datasets into key strategy insight and powerful capabilities to the business
- Iterate on machine learning products based on the feedback from a / b experiments
- Identifying new data sources and evaluate emerging technologies for data discovery usage
- Presenting the results to technical and non- technical audiences
- Identifying new analytics trends and opportunities to drive the innovation agenda across Vodafone’s global team
Who you are
BS Degree in quantitative fields like Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Engineering, Industrial EngineeringHaving an academic degree (MS / PhD) typically in a quantitative discipline or related field will be a plus4+ years experience in developing, implementing and maintaining Machine Learning / AI models and credit risk modeling.Hands-on experience with credit scoring , payment behavior prediction, collections analytics and debt recovery optimization.Fluency in coding using Python and experience in Python data analysis libraries such as pandas, numpy and scikit-learnExpert level experience with the mathematical foundations of modern machine learning / AI algorithms and statisticsFluency with at least some of the leading data visualization software such as Tableau, Qlikview, Python’s matplotlibExcellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical results to non-technical audiencesCuriosity, creativity, and an empirical mindset with result-orientation
