This is a Temporary Appointment initially until 31 / 12 / 2025.

Nature of Position

The Driver reports to the Admin Associate based at the Ankara Admin Unit and is responsible for facilitating the transportation of staff for daily visits within the area of responsibility. This includes travel to local institutions, partner organizations, and Voluntary Repatriation (VolRep) centres, as well as airports in Istanbul.

Due to Istanbul’s heavy traffic, the incumbent is often required to wait for passengers at designated stops throughout working hours without returning to the office.

The desired candidate profile for this post includes the following :

• Work experience as a driver in professional capacity, preferably in UN agencies, NGOs, and / or institutions.
• Familiarity with Istanbul’s road networks, geographical features and traffic patterns, which is essential for efficient route planning and safe transportation.
• Willingness and ability to frequently undertake VolRep duties at airports, as well as to Provincial Directorates of Migration Management (PDMM) centers in Kumkapi, Sultanbeyli, Esenyurt, and Istanbul International airport and Sabiha Gokcen Airport.
• Tasks may also include missions to Bursa, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Edirne, Kirklareli, Yalova, Canakkale, Balikesir, Bilecik, and Tekirdag all of which are within the Istanbul Area of Responsibility.
• All assignments and scheduling will be based on a rotational system, and the incumbent may be required to work during nightshifts as needed.
• Weekend assignments will be required.
• Due to operational needs, the incumbent must demonstrate flexibility with regard to changes in plans and schedules.
• Excellent Turkish language skills, knowledge of English and / or Arabic is desirable.

A break of minimum 31 days is required before a staff member who currently holds a Fixed-term or Indefinite Appointment may be rehired on a Temporary Appointment.
