STRUCTURAL BIM ENGINEER 100% (m / f)

JOB FUNCTIONS :

• Create engineering documents using Revit.
• Work closely with architects and engineers during design phase of a project to understand the scope of the project information to determine design basis, data and Revit needs and guidelines for the project. After needs are determined, provide assistance to set up Revit model files and quality control measures when relating to client standards.
• Make corrections and produce final documents for engineers to review. Check for integration of sections and coordination of disciplines. Work with architects and engineers to resolve document coordination and production problems.
• Assist in training programs relating to current / new releases of Revit and technical analysis / design software, and assist in reviewing new upgrades / releases of software.
• Participate in benchmarking new software and provide feedback to Systems Support.
• Work closely with Structural Project Engineer, project team, and the expanded team, including the General Contractors and sub-trades, to integrate the various BIM / CAD authoring applications.
• Assist the efforts with the Project Engineers to track multi-discipline coordination issues.
• Assist in the implementation of the BIM quality control procedures.
• Assist in maintaining the BIM Standards for the organization.
• Stay updated on all BIM Standards used in the industry.
• Conduct field measuring and checking at construction site to verify existing conditions.
• Coordinates with the Project Engineers to formulate the project work plan based on an approved scope of work for BIM and CAD.
• Assist in defining and the documentation project deliverables for technology related issues.
• Communicate with other disciplines to produce well-coordinated construction documents.
• Review shop drawing submittals to assure design intent is met.
• Coordinate structural drafters, give work to them and check the drawings prepared.
• Assist in developing and communicating the project work plan for technology related issues.
• Assist the Project Engineer in tracking the actual project completeness against the project schedule by utilizing reports from the BIM technology being utilized.
• Continuously evaluate emerging Virtual Design and Construction technologies, identify opportunities to match those technologies with project needs to improve workflow and increase efficiencies.
• Participate in post project meetings to identify lessons learned for ongoing continuous improvement practices.
• Assist in training / support / troubleshooting for structural team as required.
• Coordinates with Document Control on project deliverables related to BIM scopes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
