What you’ll do

Vodafone is looking for an experienced Container Platforms Architect to develop and manage our application modernization solutions. This role requires the technical knowledge and leadership skills needed to design and implement secure, scalable and high-performance infrastructures. By joining the Containers team, you will collaborate with senior engineers to drive our microservices platforms strategies, manage projects and provide technical guidance.

  • Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements while designing robust, scalable, and secure container platform solutions and their related components, in compliance with best practices.
  • Lead presentations and discussions while simplifying complex ideas, develop clear documentation and design best practices for Vodafone container and open-source services.
  • Learn about emerging technologies and trends to continuously improve architectural strategies and solutions, explore how new technologies can be added to the existing Vodafone service catalogue.
  • Ensure communication with Vodafone partner companies, preparation of regular reports and creation of a healthy and traceable process by performing necessary escalations. Increase internal communication with regular meetings.
  • Create and ensure implementation of short-term and long-term plans for Vodafone Services and roadmap
  • Provide technical leadership to our customers and internal staff on container and open-source technologies. Ensure the right products are selected, architectural designs are created and implemented.
  • Play an active role in technical design, installation, testing and troubleshooting stages of complex container platform projects to ensure that the service quality our customers receive is at Vodafone standards.
  • use your knowledge of open-source software and DevOps tools to decide how these products should be positioned within the projects, and track the tasks assigned to business partners.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience, including over 2 years with container platforms, and possess deep knowledge of technologies such as Kubernetes, S3 storage, and load balancers.
  • Provide technical guidance as a SPoC for microservice transformation and migration, supporting customers with integration, security, performance, and scalability in hybrid and multi-cloud environments
  • Prepare solution architectures that include container platforms, DevOps processes, and related open-source applications for projects to be implemented in a microservice architecture.
  • Act as a ‘Trusted Advisor’ for our customers, helping them integrate container technologies into their strategies and recommending paths and architectures for application modernization.
  • Engage with customers and collaborate with partners to contribute to strategies to create new opportunities, resolve technical barriers and accelerate deal closure.
  • Ensure that new service content is created and deployed under the Vodafone Business umbrella. In doing so, organize operational processes and implement necessary improvements.
  • Create technical designs and perform infrastructure installations for Vanilla Kubernetes and OpenShift Kubernetes platforms in projects, while actively participating in their development phases.
  • Design architectures and carry out technical setups for solutions in the ecosystem of infrastructure-focused applications, particularly in S3 Object Storage, Container Registry, Load Balancers, Code Repositories, and Container Technologies monitoring tools (such as Minio, Longhorn, GitLab, Nginx, HAProxy, Prometheus, Grafana, Harbor, etc.).
  • Possess technical and architectural knowledge of open-source software used in microservice architectures and design project solutions. Ensure handover to partners and oversee managed service progress. (Redis, Cassandra, ELK, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, JFrog, etc.)
  • Communicate with companies within the Vodafone Partner ecosystem, conduct escalation processes and follow up on service agreements.
