Overview

FairMoney is a credit-led mobile banking platform for emerging markets. The company operates in Nigeria and has raised significant funding from global investors. You will be working as an Engineering Manager in our Technology & Engineering division, which is composed of 75+ people in Nigeria, France, Germany, Poland, Turkey and remotely across the globe. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, we are looking for an Engineering Manager ideally from Backend Software Engineering.

To Achieve

  • Scaling and leading our globally distributed software engineering teams (Backend).
  • Putting processes in place to ensure high quality and timely delivery of team engineering objectives.
  • Managing and contributing to building scalable infrastructure while limiting technical debt. Emphasize solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and velocity.

Our Tech Stack

  • Cloud providers : Azure
  • Backend : Primarily .NET and GoLang
  • Architecture : Containerised micro-services
  • Configuration management : Terraform, Kubernetes
  • CI / CD : Github Actions, ArgoCD

    • Requirements

  • 6 - 8 years of experience in backend development, primarily with .NET (C#)
  • Significant experience managing and leading a software engineering team
  • Engineering or University Diploma in computer science (open to self-taught with 5 years of experience in computer engineering)
  • Ability to code in a backend language (GoLang, C#)
  • Understanding of Azure or AWS cloud providers
  • Understanding of overall architecture and how multiple technology teams work together to build systems
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Hands-on with experience in architecting scalable solutions
