What are my responsibilities?
We are recruiting experienced Telecoms Lead Engineer, capable of lead & supervise, Installation, Test and Commissioning of telecom systems for following disciplines for railway system;
- TCP / IP, IP-MPLS, MPLS-TP,
- CCTV
- Video Management System
- PABX & PSTN & VoIP Cards
- TETRA Radio Systems
- Public Address system
- Passenger Information System
- GSMR systems
- Cybersecurity (preferable)
Experienced and capable of using relevant test equipment, understand, verify design requirements and BOQ, and produce FATs, SATs, ITPs and related test documents, test certificates, acceptable to current NR (Network Rail) and other prevailing standards.
Your responsibility include;
Coordinate activities of subcontractors on project planning and especially with the civil works activities; report regularly to regional Telecom Engineering head and Project Management.Supervise and inspect all site telecommunications activities to ensure execution in accordance with the Project Schedule, Site Specific Work Plans, Approved Work Methods, Quality, Safety and Environmental Management Plans and Approved for Construction DrawingsPerform field inspections to ensure compliance with the safety policies and procedures and approved work methods.Handover to commissioning using handover process / documentation and support commissioning team to complete the testing phase.Analyze requirements and propose cost effective solutions to the track lead engineer.Ensure that the design is compatible with the standards of health & safety,Coordinate with other entities (other ALSTOM activities / civil work partners…) for the technical aspects of the interfaces and especially with the civil works.Technical open issues resolution on site, from investigation to modification implementation and problem closure,Support and coordinate the Telecom activities for the on going projectsEnsure all design and solutions has been reviewed with Alstom Central Telecom engineering experts.Create / Support telecom architectures and solutions for tenders & projects. interms of Alstom systems neededEnsure contact with the client and / or consortium representatives for the telecom sub-system definitionEnsure technology watch with the suppliersAssist the sourcing for telecom suppliers mapping and prepare compliance matrix for the supplier solutions.Ensure support on normative aspectsEnsure design review application according to projects milestonesPlan, execute, monitor and control Design, configuration, maintenance, test and Commissioning activities for the telecommunication system according to the overall program schedule.Interface with Customer and Engineers on design and commissioning statusMaintain / Coordinate As-Built Documentation submissionsDeployment and sizing of networks (fiber optic transmission and other physical deployments (ODFs ..)Network maintenance and monitoring (protocol analyzers, performance indicators and quality of service),Qualification needed for this job?
In this role, you serves as the Project Company’s senior technical engineer and advisors for and in respect of all related work, services, tasks, activities and actions related to the Telecommunications Systems.
You also act as a trainer to enhance telecom engineering community for Alstom AMECA region.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.Knowledge of network infrastructure (switches / routers / firewall / media convertor / etc,)Knowledge of associated protocols (TCP / IP, MPLS,LAN-WAN), routing principles (static&dynamic).CCNA & CCNP certification is a plusTelecom Engineer, specialized with minimum 8 years-experience in telecom subsystems and interfaces (experience railway systems is a plus).Good Communications and interpersonal skills including with third parties (client).Structured and organized with Hands-on approachExtensive working knowledge of Complex Networks design, both wired and wirelessExtensive experience with network architecture designWorking knowledge of Switching and Routing protocolsWorking knowledge of wireless communications in demanding scenariosPrior experience managing medium-large sized projects and project teamsWorking knowledge of Test and commissioning processesDetail oriented with organizational skillsFluency in English, both written and spoken.Experience in the railway Signalling Systems sector would be a plus.You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us.
