Technical Sales Manager Food Ingredients

Job summary - purpose of the role

The role is accountable to ensure specific product / industry technical support and to provide portfolio maintenance and development in order to contribute to a sustainable volume and profit growth.

Provides sales team with technical support on specific product lines or projects, working closely with product management team.
Develops direct and close relationships with customers’ technical team as to promote and to develop product portfolio
Develops and supports new product launches working together with suppliers’ technical team and influencing positively the relationship between Univar and suppliers.
Attends supplier trainings and seminars to improve and update personal product comprehension and application experience.
Deliver high quality training to sales team to improve product and application knowledge, attend, and prepare customers’ technical web seminars contributing to a sustainable product development.
Collaborates effectively with many different companion groups that have involvement in the ongoing work including EMEA technical support and Application Lab. Team etc.

Key competencies and behaviors

Profile

Food Science and Technology

Knowledge of the practical application of food science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

Min. 3 years of proven experience in same positions or application lab in the following areas : bakery, filling, dressing and sauces categories

Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Computer skills - Experience / knowledge of Microsoft packages, including : Word, Excel, Outlook

Education / experience :

Technical / Science educational background (Food Engineering)

Experience in a commercial environment providing good customer service

Experience in International context would be a plus
